This mix is, among other things: a mark of the season, an ongoing fight for honesty, a need, a desire, a campfire, a peripheral vision, balance that isn’t a compromise, a thin blanket of snow, a tribute to Christopher Alexander, a dream seeking words, a roll across the shoulders, an acceptance of the unknown process, and a brush against the edges.
This mix is among other things, for every thing has other things among which it may be found or placed. Bounds built of language cannot enclose all. Diagonalization, then, is a survival strategy. Remember: the members of an infinite set are still themselves distinct. We are nothing if not discrete, yet nothing if we remain orthogonal. Diagonalization, then, is a reshaping for deeper understanding.
This mix is, among other things: an open empty hand, another passage into liminal space, a wish it were otherwise, a mirror pointed at the sun, what I can offer today, a watercolor of the larger self holding the smaller self, some notes from a hard lesson, a step toward taking the long way, my appreciation for touching words and moments, and silence for that whereof we cannot speak.
